The clients wanted to replace their galley kitchen with a larger open plan kitchen, linked to the dining room, and replacing the old galley kitchen with a utility room.
The extension at the rear now provides a suitable space to cook for the family and entertain friends and the utility room can either be used as an extension to the kitchen or sealed away when needed with pocket doors at each end. With both doors open there is a line of site from the front door to the garden which lends an open and welcoming feel to the layout.
