For this project our client briefed us to create an additional bedroom space. We initially considered a small extension but worked out that the existing garage could be converted to convert otherwise underutilised space into an annexe complete with ensuite. I am delighted to say that our clients were overjoyed with the results, giving the family the much-needed extra space.
The house is Grade II listed, and we therefore had to submit a carefully considered heritage report with the listed building consent application. This report describes the design, craftsmanship, style, and visual decoration of the structure and demonstrates how the proposed changes would positively reinforce the historical and architectural significance of the heritage asset.
The results blend naturally with the existing with features that complement the fabric of the listed building, while making the available space more useful and attractive.
